There are many available solutions that allow you to track your belongings. GPS, and Bluetooth. With warnings that trigger an alarm if you move far from the tracker. Many are quite sophisticated but all of them focus on the owner and they all require some level of technical expertise, including a gadget that needs a sim card, a battery, and other technicalities that are not for all. They also cost enough to make it impractical to apply to many items.
Track My Backpack does not involve any gadgets although it requires a smartphone and knowing how to scan a QR Code (Apple has a guide here and an Android guide can be found here). It has a single objective: to provide the finder with an easy way to contact the item owner, and in a private way for both parties.
How does it work?
First, you get a Track My Backpack code or a Track My Backpack coded item. Since we are giving away free Track My Backpack codes, let’s look into that option and what you can do with that code.
When you register for a free code you receive an email with two links to your code picture, one with a white background, and the other with a transparent one.
You can print your Track My Backpack using any of the many sticker papers available in the market, including labels and other specialty paper. You can also print fabric and fabric press-on. Print many.
Scan your Track My Backpack code to connect it to your email and make sure you confirm the email.
Attach the stickers to your kids books, iPad, laptop, phone back or case, bike, skateboard, guitar, and all items you want. There is no limit. Hot iron the press-on on fabric items. If you have a cricut even better.
If you ever lose one of your items and it’s found, the finder can send you a message, that will be sent to your registered email, by scanning the Track My Backpack code.
